Friday

Happy Friday to everybody!!! Not too much going on with me. I volunteered yesterday at Kexp and today I relaxed. Tomorrow I hit the gym in the morning. My friend Muffy was in the hospital last week so I am hoping she is feeling better and back in class tomorrow.

I saw The Watchmen last week with Jim and Kat--great movie. Jim is a big fan of the Watchmen comics so he was really psyched to see it.

I hung out with my friend Bob on Tuesday. I was running errands and he met me for coffee. It was nice to catch up with him.

I still haven't talked to Dad--but will keep trying. He did send me an email so I know he is ok. Rick is getting him a new phone--cordless with an answering machine. Dad gave him the model number--I checked it out online and it looks great. Since Dad spends alot of time in the outer room--he can't hear the phone.

Ok Chris--I am updating my blog. Thanks for reading it! I hope your back is doing better--great news about returning to basketball soon. You should also check out accupuncture and massage therapy. Some insurance plans cover this and I have found they really help to loosen up the muscles. My doctors always recommend massages for my neck and shoulder muscles--I tend to get huge knots in my neck. It's been awhile and I am long overdue. I keep suggesting massage therapy for our rehab class but am not getting anywhere with that. They are talking about getting a wii for us. That would be so fun!

We are having our pledge drive at the radio station this week so I'm looking forward to free food on Wednesday. They always get tons of food donated. Usually pizza and lots of snacks--cupcakes,fruit, candy, and sodas. Also lots of coffee. I will be manning the front desk as usual and will be helping organize all the volunteers that come in on Wednesday. It is usually quite chaotic--but always fun.

I am including a picture of my workout friends that one of the girls emailed me. These are the girls that I hang out with twice a week at rehab. Joanne did end up going home to Oregon until she gets the call for her transplant. It was getting quite expensive so she is going home and will take a private plane when she gets the call. She is the one in the purple sweater. The other lady is Muffy--she is my favorite person there. She is from Wyoming and got her lung in November. She will be around for a couple more months and then she gets to go home. She has been here for almost 2 years waiting and recovering. I plan to visit her at her ranch in Wyoming at some point down the road. They have been so supportive and fun to work out with.

Hello!

I am posting some photos I took while waiting for my ride yesterday.  I was heading home after volunteering  and was amazed that it was still light outside at 6.  

Not much going on with me.  Tomorrow I head to the gym and then I am meeting a friend for coffee.  Should be a good day!

Presidents Day

I had a great weekend! Saturday night I went to see my friend Nick and his wife. They were in town from Tokyo for a photography exhibit. They are both photographers and were there to promote an exhibit of their photos. Nick used to work at the NW Film Forum when I was their volunteer coordinator. It was good to catch up with him and to meet his wife. They love living in Tokyo and lots of stories. They are heading back to Tokyo this week.

Sunday and today I relaxed. Tomorrow I am meeting Gwen for coffee and then we're going to hit the library.

Thursday

It has been a busy and productive week. Monday was a good workout. Tuesday Gwen came by and we cleaned and then I got my haircut. Wednesday I had groceries delivered and then volunteered at the radio stn. Today I had oxygen delivered and then got meds from Bartells. Tomorrow I go in for a checkup with my transplant doctor and then workout. Not sure what is happening this weekend. I saw Slumdog Millionaire Sunday---excellent movie. I burned a copy of the soundtrack from a friend--amazing!

Sunday!

I am heading out to see Slumdog Millionaire today with Jim.  I have been dying to see this for awhile so I am so glad that I could find somebody that hasn't seen it yet.   We are going to grab coffee before the movie.  Believe it or not there are at least 3 coffee shops within a block of the theater.  

Yesterday I chilled out around the house and did some laundry and more importantly just relaxed.

Humpday

I hung out today with my friend Leslie.  We ran some errands and surprise surprise---drank some coffee!   It was a sunny day in Seattle--not too chilly either.  I think it was in the mid 40's.    It has been sunny for about a week---rare for this time of year.   Not that I am complaining!

Monday I had a good workout--I actually walked 40 minutes on the treadmill.  Not by choice--the other machines were being used by other hospital patients.  There aren't very many machines and we have to share with the inpatients.  It was probably better for me--but tough.  

Tomorrow I am heading into Kexp to volunteer.   Last week  I left with 4 new cds, a t-shirt and got to watch a great band perform.   Not a bad day!  I always enjoy seeing everybody.

I am going to watch David Letterman and then off to bed.
