Happy Tuesday

Had a good day today---had b0th phys therapy and occupational therapy.  I also sat on the side of the bed for 15 minutes.

Now I am waiting for some blood.   I'm not on dialysis anymore---so that is a plus.

Saturday May 30th---last day at UW

So tomorrow I move to Regional Hospital at 9am.  My friend Audrey is coming to follow me with my stuff.   Today has been a quiet day--love the weekends.  I got to sleep til 9---amazing.  longest ever!  Such an exciting life I lead!

Tina and Bob came by to visit.   they helped me finish packing up the room.  So now I am ready.

Friday--May 29th

Hello-

I am moving to Regional Rehab on Sunday morning at 9 am.  I had some friends packing up my stuff todayl   

I walked today  and had my breathing treatments.  I have been tired all day--hoping tomorrow is better.

Here are some photos  from today.

The second photo is of Muffy  and Glenn--they are awesome.  They come by after pulmonary class during the week.   I had so much fun with Muffy over the last year exercising and chatting!

thursday

So today did my best walk-170 ft.   I am also on my 2nd pressure support test--I am doing 3 tests at 2 hours a time. 

I found out today that I am transferring to Regional medical ctr--they are a respiratory rehab and specialize in getting off the vent.  I was there 2 years ago and I really liked it there.  It is small and everybody is a respiratory specialist which will be great!   I remember they had a big fishtank in the tv room.   Mostly the care was constant--same nurses---here I've had about 30 different nurses.  I have to explain things everyday- -not easy when you can't talk!  I am getting a callous from writing so much.

Here is the info for Regional Hospital.  If all goes well--I'll be there Saturday.  I will know for sure tomorrow!

My friends leslie and Kat are coming by tomorrow to pack up all my decorations and stuff.

Wednesday in ICU

Hey guys!

Good day again-everyday is getting better.  I walked 110 ft today.  Wore me out--but necessary.  I also am on my third breathing test.   Melissa and Leslie stopped by and visited. It was nice to see them.   I am included pictures from today.  Some from  walking and one of me and Melissa.  Also my respiratory therapist, Don.  There is also a photo of me talking to Steve--we talk alot about music and he reads lips.   And the last one is my nurse for tonight--Casey--she is amazing!

Tuesday

Another good day!  I walked twice as far as yesterday--40 ft.   So nice to get out of the room.

I am doing my last breathing trial where I go off the vent with a little support.  I've been doing them three times a day for 2 hours each today.

Bob stopped by to visit--it was nice hang out.  He helped with alot of things--going through stuff and entertaining me.

Monday!

Having a good day!  I walked today for the first time--a little ways into the hall.  Then they wheeled me around the floor and to  a window so I could see the lovely view and the sun!  It was great.    

Gwen and Erin both stopped by during that time so they got to document with photos for me.  It was nice to see them both!!   

I am doing longer trials off the vent so hopefully I'll be able to kick this thing soon!  That will make everything easier.

Saturday night

Hey--

Feeling good today.  Still on vent but working hard to ween off.  Also got up again into chair. Living on the edge!  Kat came by and we had a nice visit.  They found a good sleeping med that is really helping me sleep.

Thursday

Having a good day--busy but feeling ok.  Slept great last night.  I have had 2 breathing tests and physical therapy is coming to sit me in chair--exciting stuff!  Watching lots of tv--thank god for that.

MONDAY

I am having a much better day today after a tough weekend.  Maurine and I had a wonderful visit!  She was so helpful with my financial stuff--really took a load off my mind!   She went out to lunch with some of my friends today so that was good that they could all connect.   

She also helped me organize my stuff around my room and we had a nice visit!  I am including some photos.

Friday

Things are good--I just had a nap and feel pretty good.  I had 2 breathing tests so far--one more coming up.   I also stood at the walker for 5 minutes and sat in a chair for 20 minutes.  I am going to try and sit up one more time.   Gwen and Bob came by. Also Muffy and Steve from rehab.

They are giving me a new sleep medication tonight so hopefully that will help.  The weekends are so much more relaxed so I should get some good sleep.  I also am looking forward to seeing my sister, Maurine tomorrow!

Improving day by day and have lots of great support from my nurses and course my friends and family!

Trache day

So today I got my trache and also a feeding peg.   I have been wiped out all day.  The doctors came by today  to tell me to enjoy my rest because tomorrow we get down to business!  Tina and Bob both stopped by.   I think others came by too while I was asleep.

Sunday!

Today was ok-weekends here are alot quieter.  I was still busy with breathing tests trying to ween off the vent.   Tomorrow everybodys back--doctors etc so it will be hectic again.    I am posting a few photos.

I got a lung!!!!!!!!

I got my new lung! Now I am recovering.  Great friends & nurses.  I still have a breathing tube in and can't talk or eat or drink. It sucks.  But I am improving and taking loads of pictures.  More later.  The doctors are cute.

Friday April 17th!

I just realized I needed to update this!   Thanks Chris for pointing that out.   I have been so busy on the Welsh blog--I have neglected Pj's World.    Things have been slow this week---I have been tired and having some headaches so I am lying low.   Today I went and had my CO2 levels checked just to make sure it was not related to that.  I am happy to say my CO2 is normal!!!    So it is either allergies or migraines.    I am guessing allergies---I haven't had migraines in forever.   I am going to try and sleep it off.   I just got home from the gym and doctor.  I was not feeling the workout but I dragged myself in and did what I could.  

The weather here is beautiful---I will try and get out and take some pictures over the weekend.  Everything is blooming and  I even needed sunglasses today.

Happy Friday!!

I had a busy week and I'm looking forward to the weekend to relax. Monday I recovered from the Walk, Tuesday I had acupuncture and a massage from my friend Dena, and Wednesday I volunteered at the radio station. It was really hectic there this week. We had two bands performing and lots of people picking up tickets and volunteers coming in for a mailing party.
Today I went to the doctor for a checkup and tomorrow I am heading to the gym. Then Saturday I am going to see a band with Jim.

We had lots of sunshine this week but it was still a little chilly. Things are starting to bloom and we are all ready for more sun!! Its amazing how much the sun improves everybodys' moods!

I am including some photos. The first is my friend Dena--the acupuncturist that is giving me a great deal on my treatments. Its amazing how much better my neck and back are feeling after acupuncture and massage. I am trying to get in once a month--so far I have been twice. My neck and back get so tight from breathing and carrying the oxygen.

I also took some pictures today while I was waiting for my ride.
